Investing in Conservation Projects & Technology Innovation for Direct & Measureable Impact

Journey to Net Zero

The hospitality industry faces increasing pressure not only to mitigate its carbon footprint but also to safeguard the natural resources and environments it affects. Conservation plays a significant role in the global endeavour towards achieving net zero emissions.

Preserving our natural resources and fostering biodiversity on both land and at sea has become an integral component of a hotel’s sustainability strategy. Hotels not only reap direct and measurable benefits from these efforts, but some also actively involve guests in participating in conservation projects to educate them about fragile ecosystems. This approach inspires guests and strengthens their alignment with the hotel brand, fostering greater customer loyalty and enhancing the hotel’s reputation.

Many regions have regulations and standards relating to environmental conservation and biodiversity. Investing in these areas helps hotels comply with legal requirements and avoid potential fines and penalties.

Supporting conservation efforts can contribute to the resilience of local ecosystems, which in turn benefits the surrounding community and economy. Hotels can highlight their reputation as responsible corporate citizens.

Hubeco provides meticulously vetted investment opportunities in distinctive, high-quality conservation projects.

Biodiversity & Sustainable Agriculture

M-Nut is a developer and operator of macadamia nut farms in Australia, currently operating three orchards totalling 379 planted hectares. M-Nut’s natural capital acquisition strategy is to transform sugar plantations into sustainable, carbon-negative macadamia nut farms.
Indigenous to Australia, macadamia trees are known for their carbon sequestration properties. As perennial trees, they boast a lengthy life span, continuing to sequester carbon for many years. Furthermore, macadamia trees contribute to less nutrient runoff in the Great Barrier Reef, safeguarding its diverse coral and marine life. Their presence enhances overall biodiversity per hectare by supporting a wide variety of flora and fauna.
Moreover, macadamia farms promote water conservation through efficient deployment of existing irrigation systems from sugar plantations. This initiative presents an investment opportunity to rehabilitate 350 hectares of existing, unplanted, and degraded bushland into protected areas for 17 endangered species such as the Koala, Wallum, Froglet, Northern Quoil and Yellow-Bellied Glider that all thrive in this environment.
In the future, M-Nut hopes to acquire additional land to increase both carbon sequestration through planting macadamia trees as well as expand the protected areas for these endangered species.
